An eclectic singer/songwriter from New York City, Zoë Greenbaum's life journey is as off the beaten path as is the music she writes. A manga artist trained in Japan, Zoë quickly took her skill set and ferocious sense of humor, into filmmaking.

It was in December of 2022, while Zoë was preparing to make We Are Bleach, an award-winning short film about pansexual punk rockers in a toxic relationship set at The Dublin Castle, that she got turned to an old friend, the Grammy-nominated songwriter Ian Dench of EMF, hoping to find a way to earn a living writing song lyrics. No expectations. It was just for fun. But one song quickly spiraled into 15 fantastic songs - the skeleton for her first (and now forthcoming) album - Lost in London. As EMF got back together, Ian went off on tour, and Zoë turned to the most brilliant, young British producers to pick up where she and Ian had left off.

Please Don’t Go Out With Connie

Connie is a catchy, pop-punk romp, as verbose as it is dancy.

The last tracks for Zoë’s debut album are currently in the works with the extraordinary Jimi Gardner, a prodigious guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer whose 2021-22 residency at The Dublin Castle was brief and legendary. Zoë and Jimi met making We Are Bleach and they have remained collaborators ever since. Zoë's first releases of 2025, the otherworldly 'I’m With You,’ and the effervescently punky “Please Don’t Go Out With Connie are Greenbaum/Gardner collaborations.

Connie is inspired by the true story behind Jimi and Zoë’s meeting. We Are Bleach star Sonnei Garces is name-checked in the song. The titular Connie really does exist, but which Connie is she?

I’m With You

In I’m With You, her latest single, Zoë’s musical imagination blazes. And the collaboration with her producer, the mega-talented, young British guitarist-singer-songwriter, Jimi Gardner, is simply magical. is front and center. Zoë moves effortlessly from a bluesy swagger to an angelic shimmer. One moment the sound is coming from the depth of her chest, the next moment she is intimate, breathy, open and seductive.

I’m with You - a cosmic, trip hop infused psychedelic love song - is the first of four of Zoë’s songs to be produced with Jimi. Ethereal, jazzy choruses weave in and out of hard rock verses. In Gardner’s mind-melting sound space and the gypsy jazz of his guitar, Zoë’s voice floats freely, embracing and beckoning us into an otherworldly moment of magical love. A stunning collaboration between two phenomenally talented artists.

Pretty Thing

Zoë’s final single of 2024, Pretty Thing (out 20.12) was produced by the brilliant multi-instrumentalist Jack Lester-George (Mutual Blue, Robin Green). A haunting acoustic ballad in the 1960s folk tradition, inspired by Tim Hardin, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, Pretty Thing is the saddest song Zoë's ever written . . . and ever hopes to write. A country infused, low-fi tale of heart-devistation and hope, Zoë’s vocals float between earthiness and breathlessness. This is a song that comes to you from a lost highway, replete with dreamy licks from Jack’s lap steel guitar and vocals that conjure the pain and beauty that is true nostalgia.
